Hello Again,

I understand dual shocks may not help the ride: but they will help fill up some of that space under my lift!

OK, so what does it take? I've got a '79. What kind of mounting hardware does it take, front and rear, for dual shocks. Where do I get it?

(BTW, does ANYONE like dual shocks?)

I have dual shocks on my front. They were on my 86 K5 when I bought it. So I don't now any diffrent. Mine does not have a lift though. The end of this month I am putting a 4 in lift on and staying with the dual shocks on the front. But like I said I don't now any diffrent.

I'm pretty sure all you need is the upper bracket for the inner shock. The shock uses the bracket on the axle, but with a longer bolt that goes through the bracket and another shock on the inside.

on the truck i sold, i had dual RS9000s on the front. the ride was great, becuase you set each one at a different rating to get different ride characteristics.

regarding front: 2 choices. longer bolts in existing upper and lower brackets, with spacers etc. Or, LMC sells the front stock quad upper bracket. There are also aftermarket front mounting brackets. If you change brackets, be prepared for removing frame rivets of the old one and/or drilling frame holes for new brackets. Use grade 8 bolts. I spent an entire day trying to find new ones to replace grade 5 bolts that were worn when I replaced front upper brackets. Found them at Lowes (n/a @ HD, ace hardware, NAPA, or dealer)

Can't speak to rear mounting.
