dual shocks with 52's up front?

:D

I am running the 3" King Reservoir shocks. The nice thing about these is that I just put 63's in the rear and 52's in the front and I originally had stock length springs in the front and rear. So, obviously my ride is going to be a bit softer. Then, with these King's I am going to be able to revalve them and stiffen them up for the new springs. I highly recommend these shocks, even when I had 8" lift springs, my blazer didn't bounce around at all, always stuck right to the trail.

ya, i've been looking into the shocks that can be revalved at home, especially the ones that Mrk5 did. But i'm definitely gonna check out all the options avail. and figure which is best, so thanks for posting up the info

if ur body sway is that bad then you should look into air-shocks, the ones that smaller rigs use with 4link. they are basically a huge shock with much more pressure in them and you can adjust how much pressure is in them to determine how soft/firm you want them

Air shocks actually hold weight (unlike most shocks) so that would effectively be adding another spring.

Plus they're like $250 a corner, I doubt he'll want to invest $1K into that solution.

i was thinking that too, but as 38377k5 mentioned, they do cost a pretty penny. I'm going to consider all the options mentioned and hopefully come up with something to work..

true, but just for the front it might a possible solution just for the front to "increase" spring rate so it would have a firmer ride on the street. dont forget that he wasnt to drive it on the street, its not just trail only. he said that he would probably need more than just double shocks up front, so figure $150 for the nice shocks that scott (mrk5) was running, and if he felt he needs 2 on each corner thats $300 per side up front so the air shocks would be $100 cheaper. he couple probably find a set of used air shocks on pirate pretty easily.

i duno, i was just throwing out an idea.

Regular shocks will do VERY little to help sway.

The problem is based on lower spring rates, high center of gravity and flex joints where bushings usually are.

Going to stiffer springs and ditching the flex joints would fix the problem but I imagine the op wants to keep what he has in the interest of flex ;)

That being the case, sway bars are the answer. The stock K5 sway bars are pretty dang thick and would work well, plus you should be able to find them for free.

If your truck feels unstable while 4 wheeling you can use an adjustable sway bar like Currie's Antirock and dial in a good mix of flex and stability.

i vote for curries style' sway bar. You cant control "Sway" with a shock but so much. or put the stock one back on and make some disconnects.
