Hey Guys! Newcomer to CK5 so please be gentle aha

Scratching my head at this Dual Steering Stabilizer. I got it from Rough Country along with the Rest of my lift kit (semi-regretfully.) Had a Professional shop install it. The fitment is not right, drivers side shock will fully compress before wheel hits full turn.

Though Its marketed as application specific and a side by side install, its really a generic one size fits all kit, & RC conveniently included instructions for every make except chevy. Took two calls before I could get them to send Chevy instructions, and when I got them, instructions showed that the drivers side stabilizer mounted to the stock stabilizer mounts- leaving the mounting point on the middle bracket open and awkward.

Not sure if I'm choosing form over function here, but I think I'll be returning these to RC for the salvage fee and looking for a better fitting side by side or stack.

attached pics include my truck, a photo i found of what looks like an older and higher quality dual stabilizer kit from rc on the same application... and the instructions RC finally sent me, showing they were never meant to be installed side by side.

why do you need two?

Why not just run the one on the OE location with the clamp on the tie rod?

Bilstein 5100 is a nice step up from any of the Rough County, Rancho, pro comp, tough country etc. shocks.

Since you have a stabilizer already I would probably run that first and see how you like it.

Gonna' return the RC set for sure. The stabilizer that was on it looks like it could use replacing.. Not sure why I'm struggling so hard to find a bilstein that fits my application. If anyone has a link, please post

To me it appears the plates/ubolts that attach to the tierod aren't installed in the correct spot. When I use to run dual stabalizers I would install the axle mount with shocks, then turn wheel all the way to the left, extend driver side shock completely and install plate/ubolt to tie rod, then turn all the way to the right, extend passenger side shock completely and install plate/ubolt. They should be centered at this point.

I'll try reinstalling that way while im checking for play in other steering components. Also just dawned on me after staring at my own post.. that the shop ran the dampers shaft-inward when everything else ive seen is shaft-outward.

BUT, The axle mount bracket install instructions say to push it all the way up against diff housing--While the tie rod bracket is already extended as far as possible (right up against the stock damper mount point) Thats barely visible to young eyes in the pic above, so I'll snap a close up tomorrow.

FWIW, my stock one finally died, and I just put a single rancho one where the stock one was. I can tell an improvement. And I have 35's.

Appreciate the input. Especially since I can't seem to find a Bilstein single replacement, and being told by vendors that there isn't anything for my application. Hard to believe though. Im sure something designated elsewise will still fit this ole burb

Swap the tierod around. Put the driver side on the passenger side. That way you might have enough room to extend the shocks

LMFAO

just kinda hit me since I've got no steering stabilizer experience whatsoever LOL, I went straight to hydro assist from nothing. You can move the axle mount to the driver side some now if you need to

2008 dodge 2500 is bilstein my friend used. Like I said before, you'll probably be fine with what you have in the OE location.
