My stock LS alternator (140 amp Bosch) seems to be on the way out. I am rarely seeing anything above 13V even and freeway speeds and am in the market for a new alternator.

I am shopping the high > 200 amps alternators but also considering running dual stock 140 Alternators.

I have a Hellroaring Dual Battery Isolater Combiner, and would like to maximize not only my CCA but my running amps.

What say you?

There's no way that 140 is being maxed out. Maybe if you were winching with subwoofers pulling on the system...which I've seen a 140 handle.

That said I'd run a 200a long before I ran 2 alts. Is that stocker a cs144? If so there are 200 amp kits.

yeah, I don't think the 140 amps is being maxed out, I question whether my alternator is putting it out

I was going to mention that the pcm can limit it's output...worth going and having the alt tested. I'm sure you have it aligned right and haven't burned the bearings out.

Interesting. Ive had them test good too but low output. The last time that happened was because I didn't have a cap on my subs.

Bosch usually makes good stuff...maybe it was a dud....

Dumb question, its not an over drive pulley?
