dually question???

i have a 83 ford f350 single wheel...im gonna runa wood bed or a flat bed...im thinking about making it a dually..it has a dana 70 rear in it right now...can i just bolt dually wheels up to it since i dont have to worry about the bed???will it be to wide???this might be a dimb question but i need a lil advice..
 
Take a wheel off and post a pic, someone can then tell you if dually wheels will fit. In a nutshell, probably not without spacers.

what for the studs???i thought a dually axle was more narrow than a standard axle

It depends. Dually rears from cab and chassis are usally narrower than single wheel rears, and dually pickup rears are wider than either one.
Most single wheel rears have drums which are too "flat" on the hub surface to mount dually wheels. The drums must be somewhat "cone shaped" in order for the offset wheel to clear.

Just saw your other thread and pics of the truck. Dually wheels will not fit that rear end without spacers.

I've got a set of the ones Centurion used on thier conversions at home. I'll measure them tomorrow, but I'm thinking they're 3.5"

can't you just go buy a dually d70/14ff?
I bet even if you can't find someone to trade your srw d70 for a drw 14/d70/etc. you could hit up the junk yard and buy one.

yeah but i dant wanna do all that and also finding a dually 70 w 456s might be a lil tough..
