Lookin at either the 34/10.50-16 ltb or the 34/9-16 narrow ss. The narrows are more expensive and harder to find. Trying to run the LTB's on stock rims and without a spacer. Currently running 235/85/16's.

Both tires are Interco's

Think the 10.5's will rub sidewalls on the rear?

How about the trxus mt in the 255/85/16? Seems to me they would fit the needs of a dually a little better?

i had a set of 255/85/16 cooper stt m/s tires on stock drw rims and thay JUST barrly didnt tuch. any weight thay will rub. and on narrow c&c drw axle thay are 1/8" away from springs.

Those look good, but the section width is wider than the narrows. Thats were it needs to be the skinniest to keep the sidewalls from rubbing.

True, but they are also listed on a slightly wider rim width, so they may actually be about the same.

if you have never seen the true skinny swampers. then look at them first. basicly a flat sidewall no buldge.

Thats what im going for.

It wont see too much serious tow duty. At most a tandem trailer with two fullsizes on it. Hope to only use it to tow with if the k5 isnt drivable to and from the trail.

LOL thats some serious weight your talking about figure 10,000# for the trailer and 6000# each for the "fullsizes".........your looking at 22,000lbs you may want to reconsider swampers period . your gonna want a "D" or "E" rated tire and a radial if its mostly a Pavement truck

Talk about an exaggeration. A 32' bumper pull would be more like 4k and we are talking about 2 bare bones striped down rigs weighing 4k each at the most. So its more like 12-14k. There are people that would pull that with a single wheel 3/4 ton no problem. The LTB's are a D.

thats's K30guy's truck ask him for some pictures of spacing .

why do you want such aggresive Bias-tires on a 2-wheeldrive tow rig???

Why not?

Whos says its staying 2WD? Bias are cheaper, and it will be doing no more than 300 miles for a round trip while towing. There are a hand full of parks that close to me.

Also I will need to be able to get the truck on the trails if i was to break. Ill have all the tools, generator and welder all loaded on it.

The only pics I have with the Swampers on (sorry, no direct behind tires shot):

I was figuring on the weight of my 35+5 gooseneck which is right at 9500lbs
and the weight of my 91 3/4 ton K5 with 40's which is right at 6100lbs wet

So thats where my numbers come from they are not "exaggerated" . I'll even give you some wiggle room . say you have a 1/2 ton K5 with no top and doors or rear seat. your still gonna be pushing 5000Lbs in trail mode

Either way thats not the issue. my concern is that with DUAL wheels the sidewalls will rub when loaded with 15,000+lbs on .Its a very real concern. and something you need to think about .

LTB's might be "cheaper" but I can tell you from my own personnel experience with that exact tire. you need to expect half or less the mileage that you'll get from those tires compared to a less aggressive radial.

so since you have to replace them twice as often The tires are in-fact not "cheaper"

But whatever dude do what you want just be aware of the possible problems

Thanks for the concern and advice, i do appreciate both.

I dont see myself putting more than 2-3k miles a year on the truck so mileage is not an issue. From the photos that were posted it looks like they will work and are what im looking for. Unless i find or come across something better, i think ill be going with a D range LTB. Ill run a spacer if needed to keep from rubbing with a load.

thats a good size I think you'll be happy with them . A much better choice then the LTB's

Well i got the tires and it looks like i need spacers. They would be ok as long as i never loaded the truck, but thats the point of the truck to start with. Any advice as far as spacers go?
