I feel very dumb for asking this, but I cannot get the rubber shift knob off of my column shifter on my 90 K5. I ordered a billet handle for her but try as I might ( and I'm a strong guy) I cannot get that rubber knob to come off.
Anything I should try before I get out the Dremel?

I've felt around and cannot feel a set screw anywhere. Is it not a screw off type knob?

Thanks!

Most of the older square body's I had,the colum shifter knob for the automatics were just a slide on fit--but there are splines on the shaft and the knob is undesized, and most likely have some adhesive goop on it from the factory..they are a tight press fit..

Maybe a hair dryer or heat gun to warm it up some and some welding gloves or an oven mitt will let it be pulled off without ruining it..
