Dumping fuel...

There is some merit in your guess for sure. Anyone know were a good place to find a factory service manual and/or what type of ohm load the EGR system is looking for?

If it's run the way everything else is, the ECM likely just grounds the lead when EGR is commanded.

Should be pretty easy to test this, with key on, one solenoid wire should have 12V, the opposite wire should NOT have continuity to ground. If it does, it's shorted. Again, this is assuming that is how it is run.

You can probably head over to diy-efi.org (GM-ECM) and look through their info, you may find what you need over there, which would be something like an ECM diagram. 1227747 is your ECM.

Also, the later wiring diagrams have been posted on here, if you search my username as thread starter, with "troubleshooting" as the key word, you'll find my post that should have a wiring manual, etc.

So after replacing the MAP and EGR and having the same problem I unplugged the elec connection to the new egr solenoid and the problem is gone again.

So I'm ruling out a manifold leak, anyone have any ideas?
Mabe the vacum lines are routed wrong. Your problem seems to be in the EGR circut. Do some trouble shooting. The EGR valve on manifold should not have vaccum at idle or acceleration. If the EGR solonoid isletting Vaccum thru at idle there is something wrong. Check the vacuum line s for proper connections to the EGR solonoid. Also may not hurt to pull the EGR valve off the manifold and clean it. Many times they get carboned up and stick open causing problems like you have.
