Anyone use this stuff?

My bro and I are rebuilding his 89 Firebird Formula and it needs paint really badly.

I bought him the car for $500 and we're doing a very budget rebuild on it using a parts car my parents have and money he's been saving. He works for me a few hours on weekends, but that's all his income. He's in high school and gets his license on the 19th of August, so we're hoping to get it ready for paint very soon.

I saw the Dupli-color Paint Shop stuff on Gearz and it seems like a cheap and easy paint to use. Primer, base coat, clearcoat. No mixing, just drop it in the gun and spray.

Anyone here used it? If I bought all the paint at the shop, even if I use the cheaper Nason stuff, I'm going to be dropping at least $80 on a gallon, probably more like $100+. (including reducer/hardner/etc)

With the DC Paint shop stuff I can get the primer, base, and clear for about $125.

What do you guys think? Masking/plastic/etc isn't an issue, I stock all those in my shop.

well I just spent over 240$ on sealer primer 2 qts/ base coat...3 qts. of 2 colors/and a gallon of clear/ with the activator/reducers for each, and that was the Nason brand. So the DC stuff sounds like a good deal.

They have used it on Trucks as well, or maybe one of the others, and the results were very good. When I get to the paint stage on Krusty, it will be getting the DC stuff on it. Mainly for the cost reasons, but it also helps that it appears to lay on well for the inexperienced painter in me.

I'd like to try the duplicolor stuff. Thing is they only have just a few colors to choose from.

You only need one color. RED

But I am curious about this too. I just happen to have a good top, good tailgate, and good doors that need sprayed. I just wander about longevity.

Well, we found another car that is in better shape, so we're going to sell this one as-is. No need to even worry about it now!

Definitly going to use this stuff . Just because of the ease of use . Does anyone know where to view the colors ? Interested in their yellow just want to make sure its the right color for me .
