Duplicolor or Herculiner truck bed coating

I prepped mine really well too, the junk flakes off of bare metal even. Mines 2 yrs old now and faded very badly and chipped all over. Seriously, paint is better than this junk.

This is what I did to paint my truck with Dublicolor.
I stripped the paint down to the bare metal. Then I applied two coats of gray/rusty metal primer. After the primer dried I took my disc sander with a coarse grit disc and ran it over the entire truck to rough up the primer. Then I cleaned it with a tack cloth and painted the Duplicolor on with the supplied roller. Took a long time but it worked for me. I will say that I tried to use the spray can for some of the hard to reach places and that stuff SUCKS! I ended up using just regular spray paint to get the places that I could not get with the roller. I hope this helps.

Herculiner!!!! I have used it in my suburban tub under my carpet and in the door jams and in the fender wells. The key is in the prep work. rough up the area a bit so it will stick and use a solvent or a industrial type cleaner. My paint on my bumper is starting to rust and flake off. I will use Herculiner there soon. /forums/images/graemlins/burb.gif

not sure about duplicolor, but every body else here says it is pure chit!! /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif i used hurculiner and it is holding up well after about a year of hard use. just be sure to prep the surface real good and use some MEK to clean it. oh yeah... and scuff the hell out of the surface before MEK!!

ive had the same debate going on in my head for the last few weeks, i think im going to order some liner called durabak its in the back of the mags. 93 bucks to my door. anyone tried it yet?

Where'd you find it for that price? I've been trying to convince my Dad to use Durabak instead of Herculiner and since it'll be a couple bucks cheaper he just might go for it.

has anyone used the Bondo bed liner? just curious how it did. can't make up my mind between that or the Herculiner on the bottom of my boat.
