Duramax LLY recommended oil

What are all you duramax guys using? My last diesel was a 6.0 powerstroke and it was oil finicky. Is there a specific filter that's best for the duramax and would 5w40 mobile1 work? Thanks.

I use Rotella 15/40 for diesels (soot control) in all my diesels, including the DMax. Wix filters as appropriate. As I understand it, most won't see benefits of synthetic to offset the cost. I would rather change more often for much lower price.

I switched to Amsoil 5w-40 in my LML. I recommend looking at the purolator filters or wix filters. Napa Gold and platinum filters I believe are still made by wix.

Ok so case of 3 1 gallon T4 and T5 are about the same price

No need to run T5 in a Duramax. That oil is 10W30, good for power strokes. T4 is regular 15W40 and T6 is 5W40 synthetic.
