Duramax Suburban - IFS Rebuild

IMG_4928.JPG Why can't I get this leak to stop? Both sides, new steel flange gaskets, cleaned and installed dry and torqued to spec. Wheel started perfectly clean

Ac delco grey rtv is what I use at the dealer because we never have the gaskets in stock. The stuff is awesome.

I always use RTV on both sides of the steel shim gaskets and never an issue. You said you torqued to spec, what spec did you come up with? For reference the spec is 115 ft/lbs. on those axle flange bolts.

Torqued to 115. I used straight rtv (the right stuff brand) with no luck. Guess I need to put some on each side of the steel gasket and try again.

Fail again. Fixed the cal Id 05, but have verification numbers that are bad now. Help?

Looks like the guys must have modified something in the tune before they shipped it back to you. The calibration verification number is a checksum and will change if anything is changed whatsoever in the tune. The one tune is for the engine diagnostics and the other is for the engine calibration.

Your PCM needs to be flashed from TIS2WEB with a Tech 2 or an MDI to get the totally stock software installed, then the PCM needs to have the security system re-learned. Also easiest done with a Tech 2 or MDI, but can be done without.

Talked to Mike over there. They programmed it with EFI live. He is going to chat with rob and get back to me.

It passsseeed!!!!!!!

Fuel gauge issue came back right before I got there, and wouldn't reset. Then I let it sit, and tried it one last time as the tech walked out. Cleared with seconds to spare.

Then failed on a misfire monitor readiness issue. Scanned it on my reader, didn't show it, so convinced the guy to try it again. And it passed!

Thanks to all for your help, especially Russel with the correct flash!
