Thinking about trying them out. Anyone got any experience with them? Youtube sure makes me like them!

i can see alot of things that could go wrong with those. hmmm... moving parts in the exhaust system......i dont think they willl last long. also dynomax isnt known for having a very durable case either. thin material.

I thought the same thing, but i figure if it would last even 5 years it could be worth it. I mean, the factory put a heat riser valve in the passenger exhaust manifold that usually lasted 15 years or better. And these cases are made out of stainless so they might hold up? I dont know. It would be at least a few months before i could try them out anyway. Im sure i will change my mind by then.

Yeah not too sure about the moving parts inside. not like you can easily open and fix. What do they want fo those?

I just put some Flo Pro super v's on my truck and real happy (of coarse I replaced glass packs with them)

6.2Blazer put a set on his 2500HD and was not impressed. Reviewed them on here last year. Replaced them with normal mufflers pretty quickly.

Yep. The main issue was that they rattled horribly from the valve hitting the case. Imagine throwing a handful of bolts into the muffler that rattled around whenever you gave it gas. After the first set I called Dynomax tech support and they said they had a bad batch. Went and picked up a second set with different manufacturing numbers on them and they were the same.

Besides for the rattles I wasn't impressed with the sound. A lot of the time it caused a funky fluttering sound at partial throttle. They were quiet at idle and low throttle input (besides for the rattle), but still seemed fairly quiet at full throttle....but again the rattle and fluttery sound probably distracted me quite a bit.

For the 3rd try went with a pair of the Ultraflo's and have been pretty happy.

Fortunately the main Jeg's retail store is local to me and I got the mufflers in person. Wasn't real happy with pulling them off and driving to and from the place, but they refunded them with no questions any time. Dynomax did send me a check for $50 after calling several times to complain, but that definitely did not cover my time, gas, or frustration in dealing with those.

Go with the ultra flows, great product. Ran them on a couple trucks with great results, on my 97 its seen 3 harsh salty winters and it seems to be holding up just fine.

Also seems the more ye drive em the better they sound.

Im just after maximum performance and minimum sound. Whatever the best crossroad is there is what i want. Probably end up going with some random turbo muffler.

I've heard good things about the Borla XL series having a nice sound without being insanely loud.

borla make the worst exhaust i have ever seen. i have owned thier headers and complete system. junk. the mufflers crack and rattle, the headers just crack. they must use the thinnest stainless known to man.

i will agree they do sound good though

I dunno. My buddy's Jeep came to him with a Borla already on it in 2006 and it's been through 4 or five Michigan winters since then and still in fine shape.:dunno:

So far it seems to be about impossible for me to decide what is the best mix between quiet and performance!

thats why i run 2 mufflers on my cherokee. i have a 4" round magnaflow used as a resonator. its basically a glasspack inside. then i have a 50 series flowmaster as the main muffler. its pretty quiet, flows well, and should last a long time.
