I can't seem to get the damn clips for the e-brake cables to come apart on my '90 K5, where the drum cables connect to the main pedal cable, at the rear driver's wheel well. Getting frustrated. Any tips??
It's been a while since I have messed with them on a K truck, but can you disconnect it from the pedal, thus giving you more slack in the system to disconnect the cables where they join together.
Disclaimer: the last ones I messed with were on my dads 03 2500, so I can't remember the exact setup of the older ones

I dont' remember mine taking more than 15 min or so to get apart. Penetrating oil, and possibly trying to spread the clamp style bracket? Does that make sense?
Remove the e-brake cable directly from inside the rear brake area using a small hose clamp to compress the 3 fingers so the cable housing will come out of the backing plate.
