Now ya got me looking on EBAY:eek1: :eek1: . I like the security of buying from Jegs or Summit, and I'm a bit scared of gettin screwed on Ebay. But this one does fit my budget better.
Anyone heard of this brand?

New Cast Crank Chevy Small Block 400 sb sbc Crankshaft

why would you possibly buy a brand new crankshaft only to spend $100+ having it turned to fit a 350? Might as well just spend the extra $80 on a 383 crank. Also, as my teacher said, never buy a pre-balanced rotating assembly(especially if it just a crank), to properly balance requires all the components YOU are using, to just balance a crank is crazy. Esepcially when it is an externally balanced engine.

Internal Balanced 383 EBAY - I'd go with an internally balanced crankshaft if I had the chance to do it again. I couldn't find one cheap for the single piece rear main engines when I got mine. Not a great price in comparison to what you found, but it is internal balance. That will save on flywheel and balancer.

Stay with me here now, but the engine IS a 400, not a 350. All posts by me either mention a 400 or have a link to a 400 crank, not a 383. My crank is junk because the ROD journals have been turned down to 40 over/under.
Like many threads, this one got on a different tangent when 38377k5 and 4X4HIGH started discussing his crank, but my original question was about the quality of the Eagle crankshaft, or better pricing.:D

HELLBENT DESIGNS Now your reenforcing my old paranoia about buying off of ebay. My first post is a link to a Summit crank, but the second link to the Cat Power crank on ebay is $100 cheaper.:eek1: But I've never heard of cat power brand :doah: the crank may be stronger, or it may be junk. Maybe I better stick with the first one

Thanks
Bob

Eagle, Scat, & Cat are all cast oversees (China I think) and finish machined in the US.

From what I have read/heard Scat cranks are the best of the 3 (and they all go for about the same price). The main reason is you can get .125" fillets on the cast cranks. Eagle you have to get a Chrome Moly crank to get the .125" fillets.
