eagle mark....VSS help/options

Started thread in Garage on swapping from stock speedo to autometer (mechanical).

Is there a way to keep the mechanical unit or do I need to go with an electrical? Is one better than the other?

Advice was given to use a GPS speedo. What do I do with the VSS for the stock speedo? Leave it hooked up and hide it?

I'd swap in a 90/91 NP241 tail housing and install a tone ring. Swap in a DRAC from a newer truck and run an electric speedometer. The DRAC will supply both your ECM and your speedometer with the speed signals they need.
