Count the ring gear teeth (41) you said, now count the pinion teeth and divide the ring gear by the pinion gear and that's your gear ratio.

i was told this rear i picked up for 100 bucks had 456s this morning i double checked it had the 9 and 41 stamped in the ring gear so according to all the posts ive looked over this should indacate 456s :D

If you pull the diff cover there should be a series of numbers stamped on the edge of the ring gear. They will tell you the ratio and the date of manufacture. Post up what is stamped on the ring and we can tell you what it is.
