I'm posting this up to judge interest in getting something together for next year. Looking to see some ideas on a location to hold this. Probably be best in a central state...Kentucky, West Virginia, Tenn come to mind.
Also looking to see what kinda date will work.
There has been a couple of East Coast get togethers in the past that have worked out well. But they were more Northerly, so I figured I would see any of you in the South, and Midwest states have any interest.
Anyway, post up what you think.

I think that would be awesome. I've been hoping for this for awhile. All I have to say about dates is it must be on a weekend, obviously. I like the idea of making it more accessible for the southeastern guys like myself.

Any tentative dates? Harlan is an easier drive than Moab, and if my k5 ain't done will I be shamed for bring my jeep? Lol

Another vote for Harlan, I'd be real interested as well.

Kentucky:
I'm down for Harlan also. Also helps as it is just an hour away from me! http://www.harlancountytrails.com/index.php Town is very wheeler friendly also plenty of camping & cabins.

Tennessee:
I would vote for Windrock as they have something for everyone from mild to wild. They have a campground & cabins that's very close to the trail heads. Again only like an hour or so from me. http://www.windrockpark.com/ Southern Four Wheel Drive Association has their Trailfest here.

There are a few other parks in Tennessee but I haven't wheeled them.
Adventure Offroad Park. West of Chattanooga http://www.adventureoffroadpark.com/ Southern Four Wheel Drive Association has their Dixie Run here.
Alot of other parks but they are private and would need to get permission.

Virginia:
I do not have preference as I have not yet wheeled in that state.

I do not have a idea for a date when we should do this. When has the previous years dates been?

Damn, now I gotta get my but in gear and work on my truck!

Here is Southern Four Wheel Drive Association list of South East Trail list:

Well since guys are offering up location suggestions I might as well throw out Uwharrie National Forest in Troy, NC. It's a beautiful spot with mild to wild trails and lots of camping opportunities. Also a nice lake.

I guess I never looked at where that place is.......I grew up right over the hill from there in Oak Ridge.

I vote NOT in the summer.

x2....Maybe early summer

Early summer sounds good just don't need to make it for Memorial Day Weekend. I know Harlan usually puts on a big event then.

Id be interested. Can't make any promises I could make but I'd sure try. I'm in Arkansas so an eastern drive would be easier than Moab for sure, though I will make it there one day.

Being from a southern state I vote for either early spring like March/April or late fall like oct/nov. any month in between and the humidity is murder. Plus summer is usually fire season which would make it harder for me to get there.

Harlan would be cool, I've seen pics and videos and always thought it would be a neat place. Arkansas has several parks as well but I don't imagine we could have a big event in every state.

Spring would be good. Make it a Spring for the east and Late summer/Fall for the west. I wouldn't want to compete with the main Blazer Bash.
That way some could do both if they wanted.

Anyone been to the above mentioned parks recently? Just wondering how much of a mix in ratings the trails are. Also how many there are now. Hoping to get a place that will take two to three days to ride and be a mix of moderate to hard trails.
It's been a while since I've been to Harlan so I don't know how it's changed.

An east coast version would be sweet. Moab is very cool, but the chances of me going are in reality slim to none, its just not feasible. But a large event at KY for example, would be much easier to attend. I can be in Paducah in 3hrs. I say lets do it.

I asked over on Pirate and they claim its big enough with lots of diverse trails. I have an old map of the place gonna try and get an updated one. Also I'm gonna ask around also to verify that what was said is true.
The last time I was at Harlan was about 5years ago and it was on a atv. At that time I never really paid attention to the trails and difficulty. I do know they have rock gardens off the main trails for people to play on before the actual trails.
I heard they expanded the park big time so as long as the trails are there should be good.

Whats Windrock like? I've checked their site, but it's hard to tell from a map......Their campsite looks good.
