I forget who was looking for these beauties a while back, but Eastwood finally figured out that $29.99 per set is not the correct pricing.

Just bought 3 sets. :waytogo:

Part #: #19016

Use "Source Code": 1102981 <- This might not work, since it appears to be personalized for my sales flyer, but it's worth a shot.

Normal "SALE" price is $14.99 which is still pretty good.

didn't you buy a set from harbor freight a few years back? I've got some of those. any difference in quality?

We don't have HF around here, but from what I can tell they seem to be the same thing....

I was going to pick up a few sets next time I was in CA, but when this deal popped up I decided to just buy them now. You can't have enough of these when you own a 1st Gen!

ah, that makes sense. I didn't realize you didn't have a HF around. glad to see they lowered the price. I think that is what I paid at HF and they are indeed handy.

....well considering the fact that after tomorrow, my company is shut down for the remainder of the year (and I don't actually have to be back to work until Jan 7th), it wouldn't be until sometime well into next year.

With budgets being so tight, it's hard to justify a trip to our corporate offices unless there was some kind of specific training event or other important company meeting. That being said it seems like it's been almost a year since I was out there... so at some point soon, I'm going to have to force the issue with my management....

Reading between the lines.... my vacation starts on Saturday (12/22) and runs through Sunday (1/6). That's 16 days off!!!! Odds of getting some SERIOUS manspace time is quite good, even after factoring in all the family events and honey-dos that will invariably crop up during that time. :saweet:

I know I was asking about them when I saw them on Mikes Build thread...now that you brought it up again I googled Eastwood panel clamps in Canada... I think I can get them at KMS tools In Reddeer near where I live. Might have to go and check that out.

Thanks for the reminder. :thumb:

I don`t think that they will be under 10 bucks for 4 of them here though. :doah:

Well, then, we should see some awesome progress with 16 days, minus the holidays worth of manspace time. :waytogo:

I've been meaning to reply to your thread lately, but I'm only through the first chapter of Herb's book. From what I gather though, Heath's math is all wrong.... :dunno:

He should start by writing it in English.. :D

Whatcha working on that you need panel clamps Dean? :dunno:

You gonna re-replace the bedsides Dean?

No...It`s good enough for that truck.

It`s more of a want thing than need right now...but I know where there is two 64/66 chev trucks with longbox step sides. Wouldn`t mind building a short box 4x4 out of them.

But I should be building a blazer for the kids and we all know that any old chevy is going to need some patching.

When I rebuilt my old Landcruiser I sure wished I had those clamps...magnets and tape, screws and bubble gum is not that much fun.

Really I just want to try the clamps to see how good they work. :thumb:

I had no idea HF sold them too. Going to have to go get some myself. Thanks for posting that info.

Went and bought some HF panel clamps. They're $7.99 for a set of 8, With my 20% off coupon paid $6.95 out the door. Took my 5 seconds of looking at them to know I could build a better clamp. But these will work. Quality....for what they do they're fine, but the clamp body is a flat piece bent to shape and at the opening the surfaces are not flat to one another and the bends are not ver square.

Even though the flats that contact the panel are not flat and on the same plane they will clamp and work. They will dissassemble so I can bend them into shape better. I have some 1" X 1" .12 wall square tube and will make my own bodies in the future and just use the guts out of these. I would just slot the square tube and not cut the wall completely through leaving tabs at the ends of the slot so the square tube stays square. But, I will say You can't beat $6.95 out the door for 8, and even though I could make "better" ones IMO, they're more then worth the 7 bucks.

I may make some different thickness tabs sice they can be disassenbled. They are .040 thick gap tabs. Wouldn't mind some thicker too. Easy to copy fab.
