Ok how do you get the bearing out of the Hub I see some kind of clamp in there and I tried to squeeze it together but could not budge it. Is this the ticket or is there some other miracle I have to do. Thanks in advance for this simple question. Also did any of yall get your hub sandblasted and painted thats what Im thinking about doing to that rust infested thing.

Get the right size socket and place it against the c clamp and wack it two good times... Don't try to bust the bearing out the other end, just to free up the clamp and the pressure the bearing put against it... Then try and sqeeze it, it takes a couple of trys, but shouldn't be that hard to do... Once the c clamp is out, flip the hub over and tap the bearing out the back of the hub... Wahla! /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

AS the race and bearing are pushed against the hub due to the tire wanting to come away from the vehichle... The race is pushed against the snap ring and pinches it inbetween the hub and the bearing! You will not be able to budge the snap ring away from the hub until you push the race away from the hub... Hence the "few good blows" to unseet the race from it's location.... Thus allows the snap ring to loosen in it's place and be able to be removed..... Then you can"Flip the hub over" and push the race and bearing out the back of the hub! /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif /forums/images/graemlins/deal.gif

Bead blast is less abrasive. It does not take the metal away as easy as sand, just the rust.
