Easy question.... balance?

hey guys, i need to pick up a flywheel for my newly acquired 454....it's a '74 motor, how do i know if it's internally or externally balanced? does it go by years?

I believe that would be externally balanced. 4x4 high could tell ya for sure.

External. I had the same question after I bought mine. Look for a counterweight on the back side near the outside edge. Also it will have numbers you can reference on the 'net.

ALL 454's are external balanced from the factory.
