Am I going to damage my Fox remote reservoir shocks if I drive about 2 miles on the street without any pressure in them? I had to let the pressure out to get them cycled and make sure the mounts were in the right place. I have a buddy a few miles away who has a nitrogen tank, but I'd need to drive there. My other option is to use air, but that would introduce moisture in there, and I don't think I want that.

charge 'em with air for two miles won't hurt anything. When you pull the schrader valve and release pressure to atmosphere there is a volume of air in there, which then gets pressurized with nitrogen. You'll end up at the same point.

Thanks! Never thought of it that way, but I guess there's not a vacuum in there, so there will be some moisture anyway. Guess that goes for tires, too, so I don't need nitrogen for that either!

I would pressurize them with nitrogen for your final fill which will help keep temp pressure increases more consistent. But for a little while air isn't going to hurt a damn thing.

Of course, as with the tires...I know how much moisture can be in compressed air from seeing the inside of my compressor tank. For the ride over, though, air is good. I was concerned about running them with no pressure thinking something inside might get pinched or bent without the pressure to keep everything in line.

Undo the four bolts at the axle and zip tie out of the way. :dunno:
That's the whole problem...I need the shocks to get mounted first, since I can't install them while charged without a lift, since my jack won't lift the frame high enough without cribbing it up. All good now, i just put some air in, drove over, let the air out, and charged them with 200 psi nitrogen, and I am now running shocks in the rear after three years without.
