Just read the article on 14 bolt shaving, so I went out and measured the pumpkin clearance on my blzer on 35's. I have 11.25" of clearance, and a heavyer duty rear end than a 14 bolt. I'm running an eaton with 4.56 detroit locker. G.M. used this rear diff up untill about 1972 in trucks from 3/4t to 5t. Living in Canada these diffs are getting harder to find, but down in the states, they're just junk in old trucks. Find some and send them to me:D

are parts gears and lockers as available for the eatons though?

You can buy bearings, brake parts (drum or disc), and even gears NEW for the Eaton axles. I know that some of the stuff gets pricy, and I don't think you can buy new 5.13's, but if you need it you can get it.

Tractech (Eaton) no longer makes the No-Spin for it...junkyard, eBay, or convert to 14 bolt axleshafts and then use 14 bolt whatever.

sorry to say that pumpkins truck was rear ended! shes being written off and hes going to rebuild another early blazer!:mad::mad::mad::(:(:(:doah:
