Ebay Chalet K5 Boise, ID find. Someone pick this up

Apart from a sort of hiccup in the last couple of weeks, this is the same one that gets relisted every other Saturday, the current listing is its 23rd since last June.

Prior thread on it here. Not to discourage you or anyone else from looking for Chalets, though, I'm still trying to round up as much info on all the ones still in existence.

It is however a stunning example!! You can't even find a regular 1977 K5 anymore in that good of shape, & it's likely that there will never be another chalet in that good of condition. It's like a time warp.

Later,
Buddy

This is true, which is why it bothers me a bit that the vehicle has so many listings that consistently miss the $9,900 reserve. I have no way of proving the seller has shills who punch up the price, but it looks fishy when another Chalet was listed at the same time a couple of months ago got zero bids. Doesn't mean this one isn't worth top dollar, though.

Yea the guy is an dip wad talked to him about motor before swears it is a 400. I sent this to him tonight!

The current listing is its 23rd since last June. Maybe if you were honest about it not being a 400 motor it might sell! This has been proven to you several times by people who know the owner who put the motor in while it was in Colorado. This error on your part makes people wonder about you.

As pointed out to you these are watched and kept track of. Sorry to rain on you but tired of seeing misrepresentation.

this is on a car dealers lot in Boise, buddy sent me a pic of it the other day guy has alot of unusual cars trucks on his lot.

The market is ass right now for anything, let alone something like this. Is it nice, yup. Whats hiding under the paint of an Idaho truck and why its still for sale, who knows. Too bad its so far away. I wouldn't mind owning it.

Been several post on this even links back to the original CK5 seller. This is old check out search on it Cali you will get a good laugh at all the times it been up for sale.

Didn't they offer a 400 in this truck?

I remember when my dad worked at a Chevy dealership back in 78. We took one of these off the lot and demo'd it to Carlsbad NM. I was 6 and it was cool driving down the road looking out of the windows on top of the cab.

That's awesome. I have memories when I was younger in my parent's many k-5's.

I would love to have a chalet. I just imagine taking off for a year and go on a mission of climbing all 54 14er's.

Oh wow, even after all those previous listings, I didn't catch the "liters".

Whatever's clever. I did try to point out to the seller back in June that I had a confirmation from the prior owner that the original 400 had been swapped out for a 350, and that the miles were 125k, but he never responded... It's serial #0661, Hartsock's Chalet from this sept 2005 ck5 ad

(pics, or it didn't happen)XX Actually, it did sell back on Aug 10 for $9,900, but then showed right back up for another 9-day run days later. As I mentioned over in this other thread, the amount of bids/dollar figures makes me wonder....

Still not saying it is any kind of major ripoff, though, but the 'market' for this one may not reflect what the seller wants for it.

Mine has the 400. I get the impression the 350 is the more common one, but I haven't taken a poll of how many have it over the 400s. I ran across one eBay seller in Ft Worth who said his Casa Grande had a factory 454, but he never took a photo of the RPO tag in the glove compartment to confirm that, then he disappeared completely, never answered any further emails....

Meanwhile, the Boise orange/tan #0661 sold this evening for its reserve of $9,900. Link to save ya the trouble of going back to post #1: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=120563609238

But - it did that once before last July, and was re-listed a couple of weeks later, so we will have to keep an eye on it. I'll watch the seller's feedback page to confirm if it was sold, if the buyer leaves feedback.

**5/24/10 Edit, mutual feedback left at seller's & buyer's feedback pages, so it is sold for sure this time.**
