ECBB Thoughts

I'm planning on being there late Friday night (gotta work, 4-5 hour drive to get there). My question is I've got 2 choices on what to bring. '85 CUCV M1008 truck with 34" narrow BFG M/T's, 4.56's and a detroit in rear (will definetly take me longer to get there), or a '88 K5 Blazer with 32" Bridgestone APT's, 3.42 gears and a Gov-Loc. I'm not planning on doing much wheelin, either one will have to get me home. I want to come down and watch the pro's have at it. The '85 would wheel better, unless it's longer length hurts, but I mainly want to be able to get to the rough spots and watch. Can this be done? Or once you turn down these trails is there no turning back or being able to go around the major obstacles? '88 would be the fastest and easiest to get there. I was planning on leaving early Friday and bringing the '85 but things came up at work, and will put me in a rush since I will leave later in the evening now.Any advice for a noobie?

You may want to check out the links to tellico. They are listed in one of these post in this forum? There are a wird range of trails. If you don't care about wheeling, I'd say bring the 88 and catch a ride up to the difficult stuff with someone. However the 85 will do alot more and you'll prob. be fine on most trails. I'm not as hardcore as I'd like to be yet so I'll be taking any bypass that I feel may break me (can't find any spare front shafts). I've read that some trails don't have bypasses and are pretty much one way. Also some trails may take a half of day to complete. Hollar at me when you get there, I'm staying at Crawfords in the large cabin. Look for a Pewter PS Dually Crew cab, gooseneck, and nekid black K5. :xmas:
