echobit style flip question

Now that EchoBit is belly up, how about somebody post some plans so we can make our own. It's not that hard, just need the correct dimensions. Would make a great sticky... :D

I already sold my set to another K5er but maybe he will post the dimensions. hint hint

Here is a drawing with the demensions (got these directly from echobit), I still make these out of 3/8ths material in a little different style than I sold ksblaze83. I have done some experimenting and if you make 4 plates (How you cut the plate out is up to you) with the demensions in the drawing out of 3/8ths plate that is all you need you don't need a cross piece welded between the 2 plates, you do need 2 3/8ths spacers becuase of the springs being skinnier than the outside of the hanger. I can get these made or curt at DIY4X can! I have been running mine this way for a year now and they haven't moved or bent. I think they actually help with flex by not being rigid and letting the spring bushing move. Only reason I haven't been pimping these is don't have the cash to pony up and be a vendor!

I have no problems with my Echobit flip at all.
I do not see any engineering issues with this style flip. I had to correct the pinion angle, but that's the same with any flip.

I think it's a shame they're not still available.

Have you tried that type of set up but have those plates move like those revolver shackles? i think you would get quite a few people interested in these if they flexed insted of being rigid...just a thought...

The way the factory bracket is shapped it sort of locks the flip in place and does not allow it to move. I finally decided to go with a diy flip from DIY4X.

Mine are 2 years old , and work fine . I have bent shackles but not the flip .

I even scored a second set for the project , and will be running 56 rears with less leaves :pimp:

I have 56s but mine are stock and have stock shackles. The angle could be better but it works fine. I forgot I had them till I read this thread LOL

anyone else already running a echobit flip and 56's? what length shackles are you using?

Supersize has one with 56's , real sexy flex ..........if it ever really hits the trail with us I can tell you how it does

My leafs hit the shackle when I hit a bump would drop shackles fix that

You need to move the shackle hanger back 4" to clear the springs, they need to be relocated to make the spring line up.

If you do that then it rides like **** and wont flex well at all. He can flip his shackles around and they will clear just fine.

a simple shackle flip will work:confused:

What I meant by my statement was that if you flip your shackles around so the open side is facing forward it should solve the problems of your spring hitting them.:D I think the Suburban guy was saying to move the brackets back 4" which would make your shackle verticle:D.

Heres a pic of mine with stock 52's on the back, that flex sucked ass with the procrap 4 inch front springs. I just put some ford 57's and an ord shackles, there 6" iirc. Havent had a chance to flex but the shackle angle looks good (maybe around 45 degrees or so) and I can tell this thing is going to flex like a mother once I get those 52's up front. The ride is really cool with this setup too. I also havent had a single problem with my echobit flip, but Im sure there are people who have beat on theres harder than I have.
