What is the difference in the ecm and chipset between a 91 350/4l80/205, 91 454/465/205, and a 91 350/4l80/205? What ecm and chip will I need for a 454/4l80/205 combo?

I'm pretty sure the ECM's between those applications are all the same it's only the prop that's different.

If that is so, will the 454/465/205 chip work for the 454/4l80/205

I can't answer that question. I have no idea if GM used a stand alone computer for the trans but from what i've read that was only done with the diesels. If that's correct then i'm going to say NO, it won't work.

I don't think there is a difference between the 454/4l80/241 or 454/4l80/205. All they do is transfer power to front/rear wheels, they still have a VSS and idiot lights, so the ECM doesn't care. But there is a difference between the stick vs auto.

I've been doing alot of research on the ECMs, never saw any differences between the two t-cases. EVilbay had a chip for the auto setup, was for a 7060. Can't think of the other ECMs that were used, and the diesels were the ones that used the standalone....

You can probably just call Brian at TBIchips.com, he may have access to the PROM and can just send you one, if stock is what you are after.

Definitely differences in the PROM between auto/manuals. I agree the ECM is probably the same, since the 700/4L60/465 trucks all used the '7747 while the 4L80E trucks used a different one (an actual PCM), because of the transmission control. 4L80E gas applications used a PCM while diesel was standalone with the same transmission.

I am only talking about 205 t case in all the applications. Do most of the 4l80 trucks run the 7747 computer and what is the difference in it and the 7060 pcm.

The 7747 won't AFAIK run the 4l80. Not sure what the difference is between the two, connectors are different, but think the baud rate is, supposed to be a faster computer???

The 4L80E uses a different ECM (PCM actually) than the 700/4L60/465 trucks, if that wasn't clear in my previous post. I know it's been said, just reiterating. :)
