Alrighty so i have an ecm, what does this thing do? I dont have a computer controlled carb and wires come from my distributor and im guessing my temp and oil senders. Is the ECM just for controll of the 700r4? Thanks.

Its just for spark retard on the timing . Mostly seen on 305 trucks due to the 9.2:1 compression , to keep them from pinging on pump gas .
I left mine in the truck , but pulled the distributor for a regular HEI from 76 Nova application with a V8

They installed ESC so that when the owner converts to fuel injection they have a place to mount a real ECM.

ok so when i swap the 700/208 for a 465/205 it wont affect anything right. That was my only concern.
That ECM has nothing to do with lockup, so other than spark retard, it does nothing and won't affect your swap.
