Today I talked with the mechanic who will be pulling my 305 out of my '87 K5 and be replacing it with a '88 350. The guy who is selling over the 5.7 isn't selling the ECM though, so the mechanic said he needs to find a ECM specific to my Blazer year. Is this a very hard part to find or can it still be ordered in the chevy catalogs? Has me wondering,...I wasn't aware of this part needing to changed out with the engine swap. :dunno:

The ECM does not need to be changed but the PROM chip will need to be one from a 350 engine as so will the injectors if you're not getting the 350 TBI unit with the 88 engine.

What they said, it should be the 7747 ECM. Look on ebay or in most of the TBI trucks in the junk yard.

Knock sensor? Do these setups run the ESC separate? If so, that will be different 305 to 350 too.

I know you can order the ECM from rock auto for about $100, but don't think it comes with the PROM.

I Forget.
