Well, I new at this forum and new with the K5 and off-road. I just bough a bone stock 89 k-5 with 32x11.5's. I have plans in the future for 36's but not until I swap for Dana's 60 w/ a 14 bolt. So for now my question is the most economic way to get a couple inches of suspension to make room for the 32's without throwing away a lot of money when I make the big swap? It going to take a year or two to gather all of the proper parts.

I.E....shackle flip in back, blocks or springs......new springs in front? what are other options?

Thanks in advance

If you really want to go bargain basement, shop around for a Tuff Country lift which has springs in front and blocks out back. JC Whitney (of all places) had a real decent price for a 4" kit. Then later, you can upgrade to a shackle flip kit from ORD or DIY4X when you are ready to upgrade the axles.

Or call ORD (Off Road Designs) and buy just the front springs and u-bolts and raised steering arm.
Then do the "do it yourself" rear shackle flip outlined in the home page of this site.
And then source some cheapo shocks from Autozone.

I've played out all the ways to do this and have decided just to save up and do it all at once from ORD. For me I only want to do this once and be done. So for the time being I'm running 33s on stock suspension with trimmed fenders.

35" tires fit on my stock truck with only a small amount of rubbing when I turn sharply, such as when parking or backing.

My other truck has 32"s on it and there are zero issues.

Sounds like you don't have to spend a dime.

well if you could find some 3 leaf front springs used they will clear 33's with no rubbing or anything. thats what im running with 33's and i only rub when flexing alot and turning, but never just driving

Put lift blocks in the front and replace the rear springs for new lifted ones.
