A friend of mine has an 89 k3500 454 th400 that gets used to tow heavy. He is looking at adding some power and was considering the 2162 cam.

engine is stock other than 781 heads and plans for headers.
Has anybody used this cam with the tbi stuff, it seems kinda big?
I did try searching, but found very little.

for others here is the one you asked on for specs http://www.summitracing.com/parts/EDL-2162/

look at cop cams 4x4 tourqe cams. ( web site goofed now cant find the one i was lookin for )

few of them efi friendly and nice bottom end power over stock .

my friend just swaped one in his 400 sbc and loves it over the bigger cam he had in it. ya the bigger cam was fun when the rpm's were up but for a big heavy truck and towing you need bottom end power more .

and if i recall bbc cam swap over stock cam = new valve springs so thay wont bind . as stock cam is so low lift . but i could be recalling wrong info .
