Edelbrock AVS off-road carb any good?

My '78 Blazer has no power at altitude and on uphills. The 350 CID engine has a stock Quadrajet. Has anybody had any experience with the Edelbrock AVS off-road carb?

(cough) TBI. Depends on if you're in a smog county, though I believe Howell makes a CARB-compliant retrofit kit, using all factory components.
