Edelbrock carb help

Hello, i looked everywhere online for info on my problem and found no answe, so ill offer it to you guys... edelbrock 1403 500cfm carb. I have gas leaking into my vacuum advance line. I have never seen this before and do not know how long it has been happening. I am assuming this is not normal operation, and have no idea what may cause this. Is my best bet a carb rebuild, or is there something else? Also i notice steam, or "smoke" come from top of carb after i shut engine down, witb a strong smell of gas. Any thoughts welcome and thank you

That is gas dripping into the intake after you shut the engine off. It can be one of the needle and seat valves leaking, or the gas boiling out of the float bowl.
