I'm a little late getting in here but thought I'd throw my experience in for future reference. Glad you got it fixed.
The reason I picked the edelbrock system is so that I could tune it without buying lots of chips and without a laptop since I had basically NO testing time before TTC. I showed up at the event with 5 miles on the truck with a brand new (to me) big block...
On startup the system was way lean for some reason, lean enough the headers started glowing before I got more fuel to it. After that, I haven't had a problem with the startup fuel so I'm guessing that was a startup anomoly. Maybe a fuel supply problem?
Past that, we added more global fuel to make sure that everything was fat rather than lean for the event but it's really taken very minor adjustments since then to keep it happy. We did get kind of lucky in that the cam in my motor is very similar to the cam the edelbrock based their "bigger" chip on so it was a close match to their baseline motor to begin with.
