So my carb decided it wants to start acting up.

First i thought it was ign related, because it happened when hot. Then i realized it wasnt happening because it was hot. but rather on my way to work is all freeway untill i get close then there are a few lights i need to stop at for a while.

Basically if i idle for a while my truck will start loading up with fuel. Runs kinda wierd e.g. idle changes. Then when i go to take off it bogs and misses for a few seconds untill it clears out, then it runs great agian. If i only idle for a few seconds it is fine, but any longer than that is when i have the issue.

So tommorow after work im gonna pull the carb out and give it a good cleaning. Thinking this will fix it. Anything in perticular i should look for? Ive had numerous Dirt bike carbs apart, and a pair of Mikuni 44phh's that i had on my datsun... But ive never delt with a plain ole 4 barrel carb.

Carb has been on the engine for about 3 years. Just started doing this after i had the carb off to clean up the intake mani. Thinking i jostled some dirt around in it. Ran perfect before.

350 goodwrench crate stock with longtube headers. believe it is a 600cfm carb

Well the motor/carb combo is fine. Could just need the rebuild like you were saying.
But first try leaning it out a little, and if that doesnt help you could always raise your idle speed a little to help keep it cleared out.

Even with the idle up it is poopy. Im hoping it is just as simple as a peice of dirt somewere. I hear these carbs are finnicky about being clean. I dont really want to spend any money on it because i plan to find a Q jet to replace it sometime soon

sounds like the floats stuck.do you have spring needle and seats.since i put mine in, i havent had any fuel issues with my edelbrock carb.
