is there anything i can do to my 1406 edelbrock that will make it not get so fussy with angles. i know they make an "off-road" needle kit but is there anything else without having to throw a whole lot of money at it? or should i just invest in a q-jet?

The off-road needles and seats and a float adjustment that's detailed in the instructions for the needles and seats works well. I have the Performer and don't have problems with it since doing those mods. It will never be as angle-happy as a Q-jet, but it makes it a hell of a lot better than stock.

I found a pressure regulator down to 1-2 psi makes the Performer perform better at angles than the "off-road needle and seat kit" did.

I got sick of it (carbs) after a while though...

Good luck.
