WHAT IS THE BEST AND MOST COMPLETE SYSTEM TO SWITCH OVER TO EFI? I JUST WANT TO DO A SWAP WITH THE OLD CARB OFF AND EFI ON. I KNOW I HAVE TO PUMP MORE FUEL, BUT I'M JUST WANTING THE MOST COMPLETE AND DEPENDABLE SETUP SO I DON'T HAVE TO BUY 500 OTHER PARTS AFTER I ORDER IT.

What’s with the all caps?

How much work/effort/knowledge/budget do you have? Changing to FI is from one end to the other

SORRY ABOUT THE CAPS!!! TYPING AT WORK AND WE WRITE ALL OUR NARRATIVE THIS WAY SO IT JUST STAYS ON! I'M NEW TO THE EFI GAME, BUT BEEN DOING SOME RESEARCH. MY BUDGET IS AROUND $1300. I FIGURE A COMPLETE KIT WOULD GIVE ME A FUEL PUMP THAT IS STRONG ENOUGH, A BUILT IN COMPUTER, AND AN ADAPTOR FOR THE O2 SENSOR.

all caps wont make you any friends in the chat forum world .its the equivalent of someone yelling all the time .

and 1300 bucks is going to be scraping the bottom of the price points .

there is a few good read ups in here for efi systems that WORK and that DO NOT work .

Hard to beat the Edelbrock Pro-Flo 4. It also has can bus other options like gauges down the road and probably the best tech support. Many of us run it and it just WORKS out of the box. I know your budget is 1300 but for 500 more, you get a complete and really good system.

Jegs might have the best price with the $100 off online code. ($1800)

With my experience I would not recommend Fitech. The customer service is sub par, and if you are not as experienced it makes you much more self reliant (but with a bad taste in your mouth). I would say factory TBI if you're not turning the engine up at all.

Thank you everyone! I'll work on my capitalization issues!!! lol (y) appreciate all the help.

If you have a stock engine, and a TBI donor, that will possibly be the cheapest. Most of us have gone that route at one time

Good injection systems cost a little more. Price each of them out and see what you're willing to save up for

As a Fitech owner, I am putting EFI Project Grocery Getter, and it is very unlikely that it will be Fitech for this very reason.

Are the factory ones reliable still after all these years? I have a factory system from Dynamic EFI that I'm happy with, but these computers are like 30 years old. Sometimes I get paranoid out on a trail that the whole thing will just go dead on me. Having said that, I don't know how much faith I'd have in the long term reliability of the aftermarket systems either, and you're totally on your own for fixing those.

FYI, I have the $105 off "CK5" discount active all the time for you guys, not just occasionally like the big guys. Just type CK5 into the coupon code thing.

Sweet! Is there a site we go to? Or just contact you directly?

I’m very late to the game on this ... If you want EFI, you may want to consider Silverado engines and do an engine swap. Compare prices between a complete engine and an EFI upgrade.

Fuel pump and baffle tank or a baffled pump are a neutral cost. That should be considered for either build.

I did a TBI top end swap using donor parts so that I could get replacement TBI from almost any local parts place.

Good luck.
