I am looking for a gas tank for 72 k5 so I can install with an internal fuel pump for Sniper EFI. called TanksInc.com and CS told me they did not make one. Felt they were just looking at the site like I was and didn't really know.
is there another company that makes a tank ready for an internal pump with a return in it?
Or
Would the 1963-72 side fill tank they show for trucks work fine? https://www.tanksinc.com/index.cfm/...ct_id=822/category_id=64/mode=prod/prd822.htm

I don't have my dimensions with me, can check that tonight.

thanks in advance for any insight.

I'm about ready to do that myself, but the only thing I've ever heard of working is to modify an 80s blazer tank. They do fit, but you have to change the fill nozzle to the other side, and change your tank straps from side-to-side, to front-to-back. None of it is hard, but modifying a tank is scary to some.

Doesn’t Holley offer a drop in pump? May only be for the 80’s style I’m not sure.
I’m running a Boyd’s aluminum tank in my ‘70. I hesitate to recommend though as I’ve had trouble fueling with it backing up the filler neck and down the quarter panel. Changed their rollover valve to a larger -10an style, now it just dumps on the ground when it’s full.
Looking inside the baffles(2) do not have large enough openings in the corners and probably take some time to transfer from the full side.
However they do offer the fill neck to match the blazer over the rail under the bed floor setup.

Thank you,
I will take a look. Yes, I think Holley has a drop in pump, but you still have to drill a new opening in your tank. I figured if I was going to drop, clean, drill my old one, might just be more efficient to get a new one already set up for fuel pump and sending unit? If I can find one...

as mentioned above reply, I would like to just get something already done., but if can't find it, will probably get a stock replacement and drill it.

The Boyd Welding tank is the way to go. HERE. If you scroll thru the pics, there's a CAD drawing of the tank with all of the relevant dimensions

The rear frame rail dimensions are the same between a C10 and a K5. You must have talked to a new guy at Tanks Inc

I am thinking about trying this Holley setup and just change the neck, dimensions look like they will work. I know it is a TanksInc. Universal Blazer Tank, but if I get it from TanksInc it is back ordered until May.
Here it is at Summit:

I’m going with a Holley 12-333 pump and a 31 gallon stock replacement tank from Classic parts.

This is for my ‘82 but the pump/ sending unit should mount the same.

Thanks for the reply! So it does mount in the stock sending unit opening? I was looking at the wrong setup before, but ran across this last night as I revisited the idea. I don't want to have to cut into my current tank if I don't have to...

Yes. It should mount in the stock sending unit location. You just need to get the correct unit for the size of the tank.

Eg: Holley 12-333 is for 31 gal tank
Holley 12-332 is for a 25 gal tank

OK, decided to go with the Tanks Inc setup for the 63-72 C10
Tank
Fuel Pump
GPA-5 340L intank Fuel Pump
and normal floater sending unit 90ohm

Will be using it with Sniper EFI with fuel ingition kit

I did all the measuring for the tank to make sure it would fit correctly, even though Tanks Inc nor Holley has done the match themselves...

I have a 77 and the pump is a drop in.

I am finally getting this done, hopefully this week. I went with the tanks inc. C10 underbed EFI tank with internal pump.

It fits great for a direct mount to the frame with minor cutouts from the flanges on the back side to give room for the body mounts.
