I already knew that my EGR was having some issues, I could feel it. But, recently, the Check Engine/ SES light has come on, giving me code 32 (EGR). I picked up a new one, and finally replaced it yesterday (along with finally installing my Taylor Spiro-Pro wires).

My passages were pretty clean, as I re-did the top end just over a year ago. The old EGR valve also moved easily by hand. The biggest difference between the two is the damping action as the valve opens and closes. I suppose this makes sense; if the old valve opened quickly, it could cause a lean condition and stumble, especially when cold. The new valve opens & closes much more slowly, and the running results definitely show that. Smoother throttle from a stop, and no more of the feeling that the mixture is changing while driving.

Code hasn't returned yet! That's always a good thing. It's such a sinking feeling when that bright orange light comes on, especially on the way to work.

I was kind of avoiding mentioning where I got the new EGR valve from :) It's the standard replacement from Autozone!

I can get the actual part number used if you really are curious; I still have the box sitting on my toolbox.

If you dont mind. You can PM me if you dont want to advertise...lol. Ive had problems with my EGR valve in the past, fixed now, but im cataloging EGR replacements for future reference.

So I know that Autozone doesn't have the best reputation around here, but the one near my place is actually pretty decent. Especially compared to the O'Reilly auto parts store. And, sadly, the Napa parts place here closed down.

So, Autozone is my choice most of the time. The EGR valve has a super simple part number!
EGR126, Duralast brand.

So far so good, it's pretty smooth and no check engine light.
