EGR Valve and Code 32

My Mom's S-10 Blazer is throwing a Code 32.. the truck has 145K on it. In the last year she's had it she says the MPG has gone down from 17-18 to 15. Not sure when the code first appeared but apparently the Check Engine Light has been on for a while now

Code suggests EGR Valve.. would this also possibly effect fuel mileage? I'm going to replace it anyways and see where that gets me.

Yes a bad EGR does affect fuel milage. When working properlyThe EGR valve helps a vehicle get signifinatly better fuel MPG.
Also check the EGR soloneid. It may be bad and will throw the 32 also.
