like the title says, i swapped in the core support, lights and grille into my 86. when i first was testing them, i didnt think about the courtesy/parking lights. now that im driving her again, i have no dash lights or parking lights. i just mad a post about this the other day, but i forgot to mention the swap

it still pops the fuse everytime i throiw the lights on. i checked the wriing and nothings looks to be bare and rubbing. i even checked the back near the liscense plate.

is it possible that i have them hooked up wrong, or would that not throw the fuse?

im lost here and i dont feel like getting pulled over.

thanks guys

definitely have a hot getting shorted somewhere... we can troubleshoot it sat if ya want...

cool paul. yeah if you want i think hell be here anyway. he just bought a new engine for his brothers 91 pickup. se we are going to start swapping that. of course ill grab some beers. let me know if you want to come here iinstead.

thanks paul

sure, i'll shoot up about 3, 3:30.. did you see weather for saturday?

i know what it is!!!!

its your light switch, it is fubared, it is grounding out the wire internaly. you probable want a new one.

mine started doing the same thing, if you pull your dash bezel and put a 30 amp fuse in and in the dark turn it on you might see a spark.
i repaced my switch with this box i made and my problems are gone.

you could try to fix the swich but when i pulled it open to see what was inside it all fell apart on me.
remember if you remove it, the knob id glued to the pull rod,

DONT TRY TO YANK IT OFF, it will pull right out of the switch (ask me how i know)

its glued on so try a little heat from a propain tourch and then lightly try pulling it off.

this is the box i made 5 indapendantly feed 30 relays and two push bottons ( one for dash one for parking lights) and it does all my lights :waytogo:

that should be the switch with the little button in back for pulling the whole shaft out, knob and all correct? my 87 has that one... he should be able to just use the whole knob and shaft in the new switch i would think?

hehe, i just went thru the knob gig on the heat levers doing my dash.. i just HAD to change the color of its lighting and make it a little brighter..... :haha:

btw, nice box. :D
