hey recantly change out my quadjet carb for eldbrook and it has electric choke! but with the weather turning my choke is kicking on and staying on. what wires go to my electric choke? (i think the blue wire has something to do with it) is it a basic pos and neg wire? please help burning extra gas for no reason!!! and we know it not cheap Daily drive!!

I found this on the Edelbrock site, but maybe the wiring info is on a downloadable manual...not sure...did you get a Edelbrock manual with your carb? This may not be what you're looking for but I tried!

Q: How do I hook up my electric choke (voltage)?
A: The Electric choke on our Performer Series and AVS carburetors needs to be hooked to a “keyed” (while the key is in the on position) 12-volt power source, with a good ground. Verify there is no voltage when the key is in the off position. Do not connect the positive wire to the Ignition Coil, ballast resistor or Alternator

I had one on a 83 k5, pos. wire should be a 12 volt ignition hot, neg. is a good ground. if i remeber correctly you can adjust the amount of time the choke is on by turning the black plastic choke "housing" , but i dont remember the specifics. hope its helps.

With the engine at full operating temperature, loosen the three screws on the side of the black round choke adjusting piece thingy.

Turn it until the choke flap is open completely. Lock down the three screws.

Check again when its stone cold. Should dang near be shut.

hey guys thanks alot will be trying well all three answers to get right i will let you know! however the carb is not new its was old and just rebuild by some one else but it works. thanks
