Working on the 77 to replace the hot air choke with electric. Are there any other sources of switched 12V power available under the hood other than the HEI ignition source?

See if you can find a green wire, that powered the idle stop solenoid..
That one is switched to have 12V only in the "on" position..
Far as I know there isn't any other wires already there hooked up that way,factory..
Otherwise ,you may have to use a test lamp to find out if your fuse box has an un-used tap that only supplies power with the key "on",and not in the "acc" position..

I'd avoid tapping into the HEI power wire,it needs all 12V for its own purposes...

I ended up feeding a new wire through the main harness and plugged it into the fuse block. I found the main harness was cut 6" from the main connector into the cab and spliced back together. I will be looking for a new wiring harness in the future.

Wiper motor has an ign hot wire.

Not a bad idea to run power thru an oil psi switch so as not to have the choke powered with the key on engine off.

I ran a wire from an aux fuse panel.
