Whats it take to do this. I've got a 350 4-bolt out of '76 truck on the stand and was wondering what it would take to get it to work with the electric choke in my '83. Will that little sender by the oil filter bolt in or do I need a toggle switch?

I've never tried to retrofit one of the elctric chokes, but as long as you can get that fitting into a tapped hole that sees oil pressure, you will be ok. You might even run a T off of the oil pressure sender, if it will fit, and is adaptable. All the switch for the choke needs is oil pressure IIRC.

Why insist on counting when the ring gear has the tooth counts stamped in?

Thanks man. I've been out at my uncle's tearing down 4-bolt mains (done three so far)and just read this. The last one I tore apart is the best and will be using that. I got to looking and there's a little plug up by the filter where the sender is supposed to go. I still have to investigate it a little more though. I like the pressure sender idea, I'll do that if that plug is the wrong deal.
