Thinking about the switch, wondering about what CFM/s to look for, single or dual, does it need to cover the whole radiator or not (6.2 diesel)? What CFM does the OEM fan have?

yup, I made the switch to windstar fans and love it. do the search, there are lots of threads on it, including mine.

No one knows the factory fan CFM, so it's kind of a crap shoot as to what is "right" to cool whatever setup you have.

Reality for MOST is that the electric fans are worth it only if you need to shut the fans off for water crossings. Technically electric fans will make AC work better, but that is ONLY if they pull more air than the stock clutch fan.

IMO stay away from the aftermarket stuff, and stay with OEM parts. The Windstars are probably the most popular swap, and I've yet to hear anyone say they don't cool as well as the stock clutch fan.

I have a 1996 Impala SS and these cars used a dual electric fan set-up that would be really easy to adapt to our rigs and they keep it nice and cool.

I have a Taurus fan in my car and works great. 10:1 454 in small engine compartment...it will cool the motor not moving, moves alot of air!!!!

Depending on your particular setup and what you are trying to accomplish , I would stick with the stock clutch type fans and the shroud, seems to be the best cooling for the blazers and reliable
