Did a lot of searching and found some good info. But I read a lot of the electric pumps are pushers and not pullers so they need to be mounted under the tank. And they need to be 4-6 psi. I'd would stick with the mechanicle but I boxed the frame and don't have much room to work with it. So I'm looking into geting a electric puller I can mount under the hood that's reliable. Anybody have any suggestions/experience or do they just not exist. I also need to get a new gas tank for my k5. So I was thinking of getting a TBI tank and running the TBI fuel pump. Would I need a regulator if I went this route? Why would this be a bad idea? Besides haveing to drop tank to change the pump?

Do the TBI pump with a regulator. That way if you ever want to go TBI, TPI, or LS motor all you have to do is switch the little pump itself and its done. Besides externals make a racket and generally are unreliable IMO.

Would I need a return line? The in tank pumps have 4 lines do I jus plug up the 4th line for the return line?

I'm pretty sure my '91 only has 2 lines + vent. I'm running the original tbi pump / filter set up on my carb using a regulator with a return line. No problems at all.

I ran a Bosch inline pump for a bit, it was 3-5lbs or so If i recall. Was internally regulated. Got it from a auto parts store.

I've since gone with an internally regulated Holley hp125, no complaints with it either.

Both were deadheaded with no return line either.
