Do the high flow (holley black) fuel pumps need to be mounted below the tank? can they not draw fuel up above the tank without excessive cavitation?

thx

Should mount electric fuel pumps at the same level or lower than the bottom of the tank. Also best to mount as close to the tank as possible.

thing is though, if you are talking a stock tank, the top of the tank is the closest point to the pickup.

Ideally, you should have a drop sump on the bottom of the tank and be pulling fuel from there.

Yes, to answer your question, But you also have to loop the fuel line 180^ before the pump so there is a constant amount of fuel at the pump ready to go. Then another 180^ to lead to the engine.

Many thanks. Trying to figure out the best place to mount it. I was originally going to mount it to the firewall but then thought about it having to draw fuel all the way to the engine bay and maybe not being able to do it.

The loop is an interesting idea to keep fuel at the pump. Anyone else done this?
