So my brother just picked up an 86' k5 and is in the process of getting it cleaned up. We dyed all the carpet, made new backers for his side panels, etc,

I replaced both window motors as they were brutally slow. The electric door locks are a hang up. The passenger side one works great from both door switches. He picked up a new solenoid for the drivers door and I installed it. It still didnt work, so I took the old one and installed it on the passenger side, it works fine. So now I know I have a wiring issue, but didnt have time to dig into it.

I peeked up under the dash and it has the reminants of an alarm system, I dont know what is going on with it just yet because All the a/c ducts were in the way. My question is if there is anything that is common that is letting the passenger side work and not the driver? It may or may not have anything to do with the alarm, not sure if it even ties into the locks.

You might try moving that relay box, the one you hear clicking, to a better ground. Mine was having a similar issue so I pulled out that box and grounded it under the radio...problem solved!

are you sure the locks use relays? A bad switch can also cause funny issues. Use a test light to check the terminals at the drivers switch and drivers door lock actuator.
