So moving over from the mech lift pump to an electric atm. Pulled the mech pump out and went to install a blockoff plate but forgot that the banks kit had to install a new pump mounting plate with the oil drain from the turbo which just amounts to a hose barb coming off the bottom of the mounting plate under the pump.

Sorry I'll have to post a pic after, didn't think to take one last night...

I'm thinking I could just put the block off plate under the existing one and drill it out for the oil drain and seal the thing with RTV. Or should I try to weld a new hose barb onto the block off plate?

Wouldn't it be easier to tap a hole for the return hose fitting in the blank block off plate? What size is the hose?

Hose is around 1/2" from the look of it, but admittedly haven't been out there in a few days. I'll check on it tomorrow. Either way the block off plate isn't very thick and should there be a problem looking at 2 or 3 threads in it. Bad spot to have a line pop off.

If the block off is steel, you could drill the hole, then weld or braze a NPT coupling to it so a barb fitting could be used--no fear of it coming off then..

That's a good idea. I'm going to tackle it today and have to get some barbs for the 6.5 pump that I'm installing anyway. I'll see what they have at the fitting place while I'm there.
