Electric shop heater

For those who have these, are your shops fully insulated? How often do you run it? How much did your electric bill go up?

I pulled the trigger on the Menards special. It will be balls cold here in NE soon so I'm sure a performance report will not take long.

my shop has no insulation, 0. We get down to low 30s with wind chill down in the teens sometimes single digits here. I also run a huge ass torpedo heater. It gets the shop up to temperature in like 2 minutes, literally. Its 385,000 BTU. not lying here. Then the electric heaters hold the temperature for a while, then the heater kicks back on. I got them to offset the cost of propane. The heaters sole would not heat my shop. Here is the torpedo heater I have.

I have a dual fuel 100k btu that can bring the shop up to 40-50 From
Close to 0 with 8mil plastic on the ceiling. Once I get my final electrical inspection I'll put it back up. I plan on atleast one of those you linked from Amazon. I can buy 2 of those for the price of that one from menards, and have more btu output. Ideally I'll sell the gas roof hanger and buy those 2 for no out of pocket other than the wire needed.

I have a 10x15 ft shed that I used as a wood shop. Walls & ceiling were insulated but not the floors or door. I used two small electric space heaters.

One of these heaters w/ a fan was good at preheating the shop.

I didn't like the open heating elements when fine sawdust was floating around so I'd switch to one of these oil filled radiant type heaters once I started making dust.

I never had to turn either one up more than half way to heat my shop and they could make it down right hot if I wasn't paying attention. Either one of these heaters would be able to heat a 20x20 if it's not too drafty.

Showed up today.. need to finish insulating the ceiling and hang it. @twoslo4five0 do you have any pics how you hung them? I want to hang this off one of my posts in the center of the shop.

My 2.5 year old for size reference.

I used a piece of scrap and some all thread welded to the rafters in my shop. I have a fan between the 2 in my shop pushing air down. Can kind of see here.

Cool yah I took it apart today. Should be easy to make a mount for it. I plan on the celing fans as well. Going to insulate the ceiling first though.

The 7500 profusion u can get at Northern Tool on sale reasonable price. Forget but around 200 last year.
Can't really say yet how good it is in my 480 high ceiling uninsulated shop.
Does put out some heat. Probably need 2

You will need #8 wire, not cheap and a 40 amp breaker.

Heater ran non stop. Can you tell when I turned it on and when I turned it off?
